Deb's and I stopped for a quick dive into Waitrose in Abergavenny the other evening for a bottle or two for the W.C.Semi. Inside noticed a very smart elderly gent in sports jacket, shirt and Airborne Forces Tie,he was shopping with his wife. I was sure that I had seen him before so off I went for a bit of Supermarket stalking. Sure enough it was the mystery Major that puts us through our paces during the march through Caythorpe Village on the Sunday of Caythorpe weekend. The very same old gent that Wee Mac had so much banter with while trying to find out his name and anticidents. Anyway after he had got over his shock at being approached by a guy wearing linen trousers and a pink polo shirt (I'm sure he thought I was an iron on the tap),we had a long conversation. Both him and his wife are looking forward to Caythorpe this year and send their best regards to all. After we went our ways I said to Deb's. "The old bugger still did not disclose his name". Hullo lads, need a bit of info re Caythorpe and the MANOR.Is the accommodation ok for wives eg what facilities,bath/showers tea/coffee making. I realize it's not 5 Star rating?!! Also does anyone know the postcode for the Manor for my trusty Sat Nav? I believe there are two Caythorpes in the area! Re Ardsley House, my missus says she'd like to go next year, but as it's the mini event do any of the wives attend? Brian tells me it's mostly the lads. Norrie
